COMPARISM

Comparison or comparing is the act of evaluating two or more things by determining the relevant, comparable characteristics of each thing, and then determining which characteristics of each are similar tothe other, which are different and to what degree. Where characteristics are different, the differences may then be evaluated to determine which thing is best suited for a particular purpose. The description of similarities and differences found between the two things is also called a comparison. Comparison can take many distinct forms, varying by field:

Many atimes as human, we compare ourselves with our fellow human and in doing this, it most times cause us more harm than good

7 REASONS WHY YOU MUST AVOID UNHEALTHY COMPARISON
1. INFERIORITY COMPLEX: When it seems what others have are better than what you have, you won't appreciate things you have anymore because of inferiority complex.

2. COMPETITIVE JEALOUSY: In an attempt to be like others or have what they have, unhealthy competition that gives room for strife, jealousy, rivalry and hatred would come into play.

3. DISTRACTION: Comparison is a time waster. It distracts and shifts your focus off their goals and dreams. When you pay more attention to others than yourself, know you have been distracted.

4. LIMITATION: Comparison limits your potentials and ability to development yourself effectively. When you compare yourself with others, you only dream to be like others and not to be better or far above them.

5. ENVY: When you compare yourself with other people, a feeling of grudging admiration and desire to have things owned by them would begin. This is a terrible sin that leads to covetousness.

6. EVIL INTENTIONS: This is morally objectionable behavior that causes harm, destruction or misfortune to others. Unhealthy comparison would lead you to nurse evil intentions against others unconsciously.

7. SIN: All points listed above are regarded as transgression of God's will. And anyone that transgresses has committed sin not only unto man but also unto God.

NOTE:
If you are the type that always compare your life with those of others, I think you should read the parable of talents in *Matthew 25:14-30.* (Later today I will do an expository analysis to further explain the parrable).
